PEOPLE, MANAGEMENT AND ORGANISATIONS (MASTER OF COMMERCE)
Description
In 2013, this specialisation's name changes from 'Management and Organisations' to 'People, Management and Organisations'
Effectively managing people and organisational change are key attributes of successful businesses. The specialisation in People, Management and Organisations encompasses the basic functions and processes of management as well as electives which focus on organisational behaviour, human resource management, organisational change, communication, sustainable business practice, diversity and industrial relations. The specialisation concludes with a capstone unit on leadership.
Requirements for the specialisation
The following information is for students who commenced study or transferred into the Master of Commerce from 2013 or students who commenced study in 2011 or 2012 and wish to follow these requirements for a specialisation. All other students should refer to the information set out below under 'Information for pre-2013 continuing students'.
To be awarded a specialisation in People, Management and Organisations, students complete five units of study (30 credit points), comprising:
(i) one foundational unit of study (six credit points), as follows:

To be awarded the Master of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, students must successfully complete a total of 10 units of study (60 credit points), comprising:
- four core units of study (24 credit points), comprising a foundation unit, two advanced units and a capstone unit.
- six elective units of study (36 credit points).
